Print All Over Me
2013–
platform / apparel / artist commons

Print All Over Me makes one-of-a-kind custom printed apparel, made to order with zero inventory waste: you can buy exactly one. Co-founded in 2013 as a sibling enterprise pairing fashion design with computer science.

The cut and the repeat: panels on the left, the pattern that fills them on the right.

The model

Conventional apparel guesses demand, manufactures ahead of it, and eats the difference as unsold stock. Made-to-order inverts that: nothing exists until someone wants it, which removes the inventory risk that is the reason small designers cannot get started at all.

The consequence is the interesting part. Once producing one garment costs the same per unit as producing a thousand, an artist does not need a buyer, a minimum order or a warehouse: they need a file. The platform runs on collaborative collections with artists and designers, which is the same proposition as an edition house, in cloth.

Why it belongs here

It is the commercial-scale version of the question the coins ask and Peat and Repeat asks again: what does it take for an artist’s work to reach a person at a price that person can pay, without the artist absorbing all the risk.
