Herbal medicine is the people’s medicine and should be accessible to all. The clinic exists to give individuals and communities agency over their own bodies and health choices: donation-based consultations, workshops, and medicine made in company rather than bought.

The clinic

A collective of clinical herbalists, each through Arborvitae School of Traditional Herbalism’s three-year clinical and mentorship program, working in the Hudson Valley. Consultations are donation-based and one-to-one, holistic rather than symptom-led (physical, emotional and spiritual), with a herbal plan built inside whatever budget a person actually has. Women’s health, immune challenges, digestion, the nervous system, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and the acute things: colds, flu. All ages, infants to elders, including pregnancy.

Walks, workshops, medicine making

The practice travels. Herbal walks, workshops and medicine-making sessions have run at DWeb NYC (2023), DWeb Camp (2024), HOPE (Hackers on Planet Earth) (2025 and 2026), and as Herbal Theurgy at Black Sky, Crete (2025).

The venues are not incidental. Taking plant medicine into hacker and decentralized-web gatherings puts two literacies in the same room (people who know how to keep a network running and people who know how to keep a body running), on the shared premise that both are infrastructure a community can hold itself.

Why it informs the rest

Free is a structural claim, not a discount: it means the clinic is held up by growers, preparers and people who show up, and that the knowledge has to be written down in a form others can pick up and run. A materia medica is only worth keeping if the next person can read the part, the preparation, the dose and the caution and act on them: the same standard Sanctuary Cell Division asks of an organization’s own records.
